Does Your Product Still Have That “New Car” Smell?

Is it time for a product refresh?
Monsoon season has begun

The monsoons have started here in Arizona.

For those of you not familiar with what these are, they’re basically thunderstorms.

But with a very predictable beginning and ending season.

In fact, the season begins when the dewpoint hits 55 for three consecutive days at SkyHabor airport in Phoenix or 40 in Flagstaff.

Well, that happened over the weekend.

And the thunderstorms exploded in concert around here yesterday.

This year, however, the National Weather Service decided to take all of the fun out of it.

They declared June 15 as the official start date.

As you might imagine, Arizona is a very dry place.

After all, we do have several deserts.

The monsoons bring rejuvenation.

A refresh.

Faded greens become bold and brilliant once again.

This cycle repeats every year.

The most interesting companies and products follow a similar cycle.

We know how good Apple is at this.

Disney is the same.

They’re constantly adding new rides and themes.

This keeps customers interested and engaged.

Keeping your own products refreshed can do the same for you.

How do you refresh?

Adding new features.

Replacing out dated content.

Maybe even a name change.

No body likes stale chips.

But every body likes to pop open a fresh bag.
